Although a little hot this past month, Riding has been GREAT!!
Snug Harbor was a great place for breakfast, with the views, ocean breeze and comeradery!
The weekend of 7/26, I attended the Yankee Beemers Lime Rock Rally in Lakeville, Ct. riding out with Richie Roy and Mike Desarro, we took some nice back roads through Northern Connecticut, arriving at Lime Rock Park to the roar of cars running laps around the racetrack. We were able to set up our tents, ride into town for take out, and return just before the rain fell. Although my tent is an older one, it still did well, thanks to Camp Dry! Jay and Kathy Fogelman also arrived and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the campsite.
On Tuesday, we went to Motorcycle Pedia museum in Newburgh, NY. This is quite a museum with 85,000 sq ft display of some 500 motorcycles, all with different histories. (google for pictures, as I left my phone back at the tent!)
Return ride to Lime Rock was uneventful, with a stop at the I84 Diner in Fishkill, NY.
As I considered the weather on Sunday morning, rain all morning, I decided to pack up and head home on Saturday.
My ride home was enjoyable, only seeing 1 deer off in a field, away from the road. I returned home around 7:30, in time to unpack and enjoy a hot shower, as Lime Rock did not have any shower facilities this year.
Reminder of our Club Picnic on Saturday the 23rd of August at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI. Site #19. Details to be finalized at the monthly meeting.
This months Tuesday Breakfast is at the Willow on Rte. 1 in Charles town. Monthly meeting on the 11th at the Carriage House Inn. Hope to see you there!
Rubber side down!
