Greetings to All!

Valentine’s Day is around the corner!
Here we are in the frozen north with old, dirty snow piled up on the roads and more on the way? It’s not melting fast enough! Our furnaces are getting heavily used this winter and my gas bill reflects it!
I sent out some info to all concerning a proposed bill before the House Judiciary Committee, making it legal in Rhode Island for motorcyclists to split lanes. It allows a rider to slowly split the lanes of slow moving or stopped traffic. I believe that the speed limit for motorcyclists is 20mph when lane splitting. The proposal, HB 7354 was in committee for a hearing, and as of this writing I have no further information. If you are interested send an email to your representative to vote for approval when this bill arrives on the floor.
The club sponsored a dinner at the Providence Rescue Mission on Friday 30 January. Our Chef without equal, Vasilios, once again did a fantastic job of cooking a delicious meal where we fed approximately 150 people. Thanks for all who donated to this event and a special shout out to those who braved the cold and volunteered at the mission. Thanks to Vasilios, Bill, Kathe, Jay, Steve, Mike, Bruce, Joe and Norm. You guys rock!
Our next meeting is this Monday, 9 February, at 7:00 pm at the Carriage Inn. See you there!
