This past month, I attended the “Cape Ride” on Oct. 12th, put on by Phil Foster of the Yankee Beemers. I rode to the meeting destination, Grumpy’s Restaurant in Dennis, where we had Breakfast. There we met up with about 7 others. After Breakfast, Richie lead us to Scargo Tower, that offered a great view of Cape Cod Bay. From there, we went to the Cape Cod Museum of Art, where they had a Vintage Motorcycle display with about 30 bikes! From there, we rode to Chatham where we stopped at the Lighthouse, overlooking North Beach Island. You could see some seals off in the distance!
We headed home from there, but I had to make a coffee stop with Bill Drachenberg in Fairhaven. Always have to leave time for coffee! Weather was around 70, clear and sunny. A great day enjoyed by all! (Photos below)
The following Saturday, I again met up with Richie for his annual Sugar House Ride. We met up at the Shell Station in Orange, Ma. When I arrived, there were about 70 motorcycles in the parking lot! My concerns were soon put to rest, as I realized that another motorcycle group, the New England Riders, were also meeting there, for their annual foliage ride. As they departed before us, leaving us with about 12 riders. A much better, easier to control number. Richie lead us on a back road ride through the area, ending at Stewart & Johns in Westmoreland, NH. Upon arrival, we were met by Bill Kenney, Joe Tatulli and Ray Goppold. Breakfast pancakes were delicious and the ride home enjoyable, as again the weather was sunny and around 60′. This past Sunday was Carl’s Vanilla Bean ride with around 50 in attendance throughout the morning. A very successful day. Thanks,Carl for again hosting this event for the 26th year!
Coming up on Sunday, Dec. 1st is the annual Chicken Ride to Wrights Farm in Burriville, RI. For those who want to join us in a ride there, meet up at the Groundwater Cafe, Rte 101 & 102. Meet at 11:am, KSU departure @ 11:30 am!
Just a reminder, as we have set our clocks back last weekend, it is now getting darker, earlier. I find that there are many inattentive drivers out there, so, LET’S BE CAREFUL!!!
Tuesday’s breakfast is at The Homestead Restaurant on Rte. 2 in Exeter. Our December monthly meeting is on the 11th at the Carriage House.
Dinner at 6, Meeting at 7. Hope to see you there!
