Well, we set the clocks back last Sunday am – still the same amount of daylight hours! It does make it easier to get riding in the morning in the daylight rather than moonlight!
Last Sunday also was Carl’s ride in to the Vanilla Bean! The weather was cool, but sunny. Turnout was good and it was great seeing many who only get out to the Bean for this event.
On 10/17, I did attend the European Motorcycle Day at Larz Anderson Museum in Brookline, Ma. As it was a damp, dreary day, the turnout was light. Light turnout with light participation made for many easy trophy wins in each category! The bikes on display were still shined up and proudly presented, as well as the cars inside the museum. I always do enjoy looking through all their exhibits!
I did take my G310gs to Larz, riding up 24 to 128 to Rte 1 to the VFW Parkway. The more I ride this little bike, the more I realize how capable that it is! I feel that BMW really hit the smaller segment mark with this model, and can only wonder how good its replacement, the new 450gs will be! As they say….It’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow!
The last week or so has seen some really nice weather with temperatures going into the 60’s even 70’s at times. I have been trying to enjoy these days, as we all know that they are numbered, with riding and yard work. The latter being not as much fun!
A note of warning to all – with all the leaves on the ground, when it rains, be careful! Wet leaves are slippery and sneak up on you in the corners!
Our Tuesday Breakfasts is repeating itself at the Groundwater Café, which I feel has the BEST Maple Bacon Croissant that I have ever had! Good coffee and friendly service too!
Our annual Chicken Ride to Wrights Chicken Farm is on Sunday, December 6th. For those who want to meet up and ride in as a group, meet up at the Groundwater Café, Rte 101 & Rte 102 at 11am. (time subject to change so check the website and FB page)
Monthly meeting is on Monday, 11/9 at the Carriage Inn. Dinner at 6pm, meeting at 7pm.
Rubber side down!
