As I left my house this Sunday morning (9/8), with temperatures a crisp 58°, I traversed 111 miles through RI, CT, and MA until arriving at my destination, the Hamilton Rod & Gun Club in Sturbridge, MA, for the 2024 Italian Motorcycle Owners Club Rally.
With gunshots in the background and a light breeze in the air, you could see Italian motorcycles pulling in and parking while their owners were looking at and photographing Moto Guzzis, Ducatis, Laverdas, Moto Morinis and even an Ossa and Montesa Cota.
Being a long time Moto Guzzi owner, there were plenty V85TTs, Stelvios, V7s and classic models from days past with none of the technology the current models have, which garnered the largest audience. The older Ducatis and Laverdas were also striking to see as you rarely see them on regular rides.
A $10 admisison fee got you entrance where you could view two-wheeled Italian eye-candy, an IMOC pin and paper slips to vote for your favorite bike in various categories.
In closing, I will add it was also a great ride through RI, CT, and MA back roads with the added benefit of heated grips on my modern V85TT ride.
