September 2024 – A Demo-Day With The “Guzzi Guy”

By Dave Carr

As the clubs unofficial “Guzzi Guy” I was glad to see that Moto Guzzi was doing a Demo Day at northeast dealers. On Saturday morning, 17 August, the Moto Guzzi truck came to Razee and had an array of about 10 bikes that included the Stelvio, V85TT, Mandello V100 and the V100S which includes Ohlins suspension front and rear, heated grips and a quick shifter, as well as the smaller V7 models.

Welcomed riders were greeted by the Moto Guzzi blue awning check in station  where a one-time sign in would enable you to try as many bikes as availability lasted throughout the day. Myself, I took out the Mandello and Mandello S as well as the Stelvio. Oddly enough the Mandello V100S was my favorite due to its short wheelbase and suspension that handled great around corners and delivered a nice pick up. It also has “wings” on the left and right side of the tank that open up at certain speeds, and also while in rain mode, to direct the air away from you. The 2025 V85TT (there was no 2024 V85) was the only V85 model that was there and also seemed the most popular, I would have liked to take it out to compare it to mine but it was scheduled for the majority of the rides.

For those that did purchase a bike, an additional $500 was taken off the price and you also got a free Moto Guzzi helmet.

Aside from myself, I saw Carl take out a Stelvio, Norman take out the V85TT, Bob (Grady) took out a V100S and Rich (Catfish) Roy took out a V7.  Overall I would say it was a huge success and hopefully this will lead to Gordon selling some Moto Guzzis and increasing his customer base. Let’s hope other brands do this to increase demo days in the future.

Special thanks to Dan Thompson (Former Razee Sales Mgr) who acted as the official Ride Captain, and who led the 6 rides throughout the day.
