This month, I took a ride to the Empire Tea & Coffee Shop on Williams St. (corner of Bellevue) in Newport, RI. I rode there on a warm day in August and found the traffic was an issue getting there. Silly me, not thinking about Newport Traffic on a Friday in the Summer!
There is something about getting a fresh coffee and pastry and sitting on the patio that abuts Bellevue Ave and watching the cars and tourists go by!
Along with delicious coffee and pastries, they also serve Cold Brew, Latte, Chai, Hot Chocolate, and the list goes on and on! Teas are too numerous to mention!
If you have never sat on their patio while enjoying a coffee, while watching the busy world go by, you owe it to yourself to do so!
A word of caution – I parked in the parking lot behind the coffee shop. When I went to exit, I was charged $12.00 for the 40 minutes that I stayed there! Had I known, I would have gone into CVS to make a purchase and get my parking validated! Oh well!
Newport – another reason to come Over the Bridge!
