June 2025 – From The President

By Dave Pelletier

As Memorial Day has passed, Summer is unofficially here! This week, the weather is supposed to be great, sunny, with highs in the low 80’s! Lets get out there and ride!

Last week, Norm & I attended the Americade Rally in Lake George, NY. As we were there early in the week, attendance seemed to be lighter, but getting busier as the weekend came closer. Vendors were about 10% lighter, and 3 manufacturers, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, and KTM did not attend. Cost of admission went up, with the top tier costing $299.00!!! I think that they are starting to out-price themselves. We returned home on Thursday and beat the rain!

Speaking of riding, Tuesday, June 10th is the “Ride to Work Day” started by Andy Goldfine of Aerostitch. Andy started this in 1992 as a way to educate government officials, employers, and non riders about the advantages of motorcycle commuting. As I am no longer employed, I will be doing my part and riding to breakfast that day!

June is when the MOA hosts their National Rally. This year, it is returning to Lebanon, TN. Several of our members are going, and we have once again gotten together with the Yankee Beemers on a “club tent” at the rally site. If you go, stop by, bring a chair, and hang out for a bit!

As you know, we are NOT hosting our Gathering of the Clams Rally this year, due to increasing (loss) cost. Wanting to have a get together, I have booked a picnic site at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI on Saturday, August 23rd. Plans are still forthcoming, but mark your calendar!

Our monthly Tuesday breakfast is at Linda’s in Narragansett. Meeting on the 9th at Carriage House, as I have been told that their roof leak has been repaired! Hope to see you there!

Rubber side down!
