July 2025 – From the President

By Dave Pelletier

Well, 3 brave soles rode to the MOA Rally in Lebanon, Tennessee. John Fraser, Bruce Stevens and Bob Fadden! There’s was a bit of a wet ride down and a hot ride back! Congratulations to all three for making the journey!

Mike Desarro was kind enough to drive his “Custom Overland Camping Unit” there and provide an additional place for gathering and cold refreshments!

As for myself, will, I was “chauffeured” by Ken Richmond in his air conditioned and totally dry Toyota! With the impending weather report, sometimes you just don’t feel like riding. Of course, once in Tennessee, we had to make the obligatory stop at Buc-ee’s! Talk about one stop shopping, gas, coffee, an assortment of food and clean restrooms! If you’ve never stopped at a Buc-ee’s you owe it to yourself to do so.

This year, there were about 6,00 attendees along with a very good selection of vendors. I, myself spent over 2k on lighting and horns to be more noticed! One of the nicest parts was all of us getting together for dinner. Great to have local friends to socialize with!

Next year, the MOA Rally will be held in Burlington, VT. We are already making plans to have our own space there, and hoping that many more will attend. If you have never attended a National Rally, you owe it to yourself! It is a great experience, and will be within a few hours ride.

Well, enough about the National.

We sill have our club picnic on Saturday, August 23rd at Colt State Park in Bristol. We are still working on food arrangements and will update next month.

This weekend, July 11 – 13 will have the World Trials competition in Exeter, RI., an event worth seeing! Google for more info.

Our monthly breakfast is at the Snug Harbor Marina. Monthly meeting on the 14th at the Carriage Inn, as always. Hope to see you there!

Rubber side down!
