On a beautiful warm and sunny Saturday afternoon, August 23, over 20 members of the OSBMWR’s club met at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI for our end of Summer gathering. President Dave P organized this through DEM and reserved a site which turned out to be perfect due to its shade and proximity to the water. The club provided the main course which consisted of burgers and Saugys with all the fixings.
Individual group members brought salad, fruit, drinks, cookies, pastries and other tasty sides. A good time was had by all and there was plenty of food to go around with leftovers to be taken home. Some arrived by car, some arrived on 2 wheels but the consensus was this was a great 1st time event which hopefully will become a regular activity.
With members from RI and MA this location is not only convenient but also very scenic with picnic sites, fishing, walking paths, and cycling; with the State Bike Path running though it at the entrance as well. In closing, this was also very cost effective for the club’s budget with the most bang for the buck, along with the side dishes and desserts individual members brought. A great way to end the summer of 2025 and look forward to Fall riding in the coming months as the weather gets cooler!
Ride safe and ride often!!
