January 2026 – Rumbling Right Along

Four Days in a Row

By Joe Tatulli

As the months roll by, year after year, there is a certain cadence to life that we grow to appreciate, especially if we are relatively healthy and mobile. As an active club member I try to attend all the planned club events, and that can sometimes include stopping by our favorite local motorcycle dealer RAZEE on Tower Hill Road in North Kingstown, RI.

Many of our members will connect with a familiar riding buddy, at that special time of day, and maybe take a nice ride to The Bean, or some other favorite spot they’ve visited many times on some of their favorite back roads. Others may swing by after a nice breakfast ride to check out the new bikes on the sales floor, visit the head, and maybe say hello to our friends at RAZEE.

It was on one of these occasions on a recent Saturday (December 6, 2025) that someone said as we were heading to the door (I think it was Prez Dave, or maybe Carl), “Hey it looks like we’ll be seeing each other four days in a row.” It took a few seconds for the guys that were there to figure out why, and some of the expressions on their faces ranged from a smile to the bewildered look one may have when they realize their x-wife (if you happen to have one) just walked into the room, and they weren’t expecting to see her at that particular moment :0).

I don’t know about you but if I happen to run into one of our esteemed members while out shopping or wherever it’s usually all smiles and a happy hello. But four days in a row was a trip when you think about it for a minute. We usually see each other (as a group) at Tuesday Breakfast, and for some Saturday breakfast, each week. That’s one day on, with four days off until Saturday. Many of us see each other two days in a row if we attend the Monthly Meeting on a Monday night and also Tuesday Breakfast the following day. But four days in a row? Yup!

So here’s the cadence. Day 1 was Saturday at RAZEE; Day 2 was Sunday and the annual Chicken Ride to Wright’s Farm; Day 3 was the Monday December Monthly Meeting at the Carriage Inn; and Day 4 was Tuesday i.e., Tuesday Breakfast at the Cranston Diner, and yes we saw each other four days in a row. The only real disappointment was that we didn’t get to eat at RAZEE on day 1.

If you got this far you’ve probably come to the conclusion that I must be a little off my rocker. Just for the record… you’re right. But think about this… Why did this happen and will it ever happen again? It happened because the first day of December was on a Monday. That means that the second Monday (the official Monthly Meeting night) was the day after the first Sunday of December which is the official day for the Annual Chicken Ride. That won’t happen in 2026 because the first day of December is a Tuesday, and that pushes the Monday Monthly meeting out to the 14th. The Chicken Ride will be on December 6th in 2026. The next time this “four days in a row” could take place would be in December of 2031, six years from now. Of course we could circumvent the issue by planning a special event on a Sunday before our Monthly Monday Meeting. Any planners out there? Make your voices heard. “I make a motion…”
