Well, as you probably have heard, on Monday, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter! And lately, it has been an old fashioned winter!
I also heard that, along with his weather prediction, Phil recommended we keep our Battery Tenders plugged in for another 6 weeks!
Having heated gear is a game changer. My personal low temp ride was to the Vanilla Bean for Sunday breakfast where it was 19°. But, I will not ride when there is salt on the roadways! I just can’t subject my beloved motorcycles to that type of abuse.
On a nicer note, on March 8th, only 30 days from now, we set our clocks ahead! On that date, the sun will set at 6:44 pm., average high temperature is 48° and average low temperature is 30°! Things are looking up!

With this, it is time to start planning our riding season! Have you thought of riding somewhere in the past that just didn’t work out? Heard about a great road that you always wanted to ride? Heard about a special event that you always wanted to attend? These are just some of the possibilities that lie ahead for the upcoming riding season!
It is also a great time to start thinking about motorcycle maintenance. Is your bike due for a service? Are the tire treads starting to look a little thin? It is the best time of the year to schedule that appointment at Razee’s and have your mount ready before the spring rush gets here!
One of my planned trips this year is to the MOA National Rally in Essex Junction, VT. This fairground is right outside of Burlington, VT, a great area to ride. If you have never been to a MOA National Rally, you owe it to yourself to do so. This is probably the closest that a National Rally will come to our home state. Mark your calendar as the dates are June 11 – 13. Our club will have our own camping area set up!
Our Tuesday Breakfast is once again at the Olde Theater Diner in Coventry. Monthly meeting is on the 9th at the Carriage Inn. Hope to see you at both!
