September 2026 – From the Secretary

By Steve Forad

Greetings,

Shorter days are already here, but the riding weather is at its best! Cooler nights, dewy mornings and warm afternoons. Time to think about layering up for morning rides. Soon the leaves will be changing and blowing across the road, I love riding through blowing leaves. I was riding several secondary roads in Connecticut this morning doing an errand in Jewett City. The roads were in great shape and light traffic, perfect conditions.

As you are aware, we changed our September breakfast location. Our Wakefield location wanted to open at 10:00 and this was a too late for all of us. So, we are at Cindy’s in Scituate for the rest of the month!

Have you been shopping around for new riding gear and wondered what all the label definitions mean? I just purchased some riding pants from a company in England. On Monday, I will give a review and talk about all the European labeling and what to look for in future searches.

Our monthly meeting is this Monday September 14, at the Carriage Inn. Meeting at 7:00PM, come early for dinner and polite conversation.
