Greetings,
Summer is here and the riding conditions are perfect in New England. The National MOA rally is less than a week away in Essex Junction, Vermont. There are many routes to the rally both backroad and highway. A quick check on Google maps indicates anywhere between 4-5 hours driving time. With breaks looking at an additional 30-45 minutes.
Back in September 2021 several members of the club went to Lake Champlain to visit Valcour Island where, in 1776, Benedict Arnold, fighting against a superior British naval force, held the British fleet from attacking Fort Ticonderoga preventing what would have been an early disaster in the Revolutionary War! These locations are easily within reach of the rally site, about 1.5 hrs. to Ft Ticonderoga and approximately an hour to Valcour Island. Either ride offers some beautiful VT/NY scenery and maybe a ferry ride across Lake Champlain.
I am taking my camper to the rally and will have some room in my truck to carry any gear you don’t want to carry on your bike. Let me know 401-862-6531. You must drop it off at my place. I am leaving early Wednesday morning 10 June.
