May 2026 – From the President

By Dave Pelletier

Hi, All! For me, this has been a busy month! A couple of weeks ago, my wife Pat and I took a trip to Arizona where we checked off 2 more National Parks: Saguaro and Petrified Forest. While we were out there, we also visited Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Of course, we also had to stop in Winslow and “stand on the corner!” (Note: Winslow is kind of a depressed town and the “corner” is actually a façade) At least they have a Bright Red Ford parked in front!

Now, back at home, she has me painting the kitchen cabinets. This weekend we are headed to Virginia to see our Grandkids in a dance recital. All this during great riding weather!

Last month, I stated that I was going to start thinning out my herd (6 motorcycles at that time). Well, I did consign my Honda at Razee’s. Once again, Chris came through and the Honda went to a loving family! Now to decide which one needs to go next. A very tough decision! I am, however, considering the purchase of a shipping container for storage.

The MOA National Rally is getting closer, and we now have a club rally t shirt! Once again, Joe Tatulli has worked his magic in coming up with a design. For this rally, the T Shirt will be only available in Orange. This will easily distinguish us, as many past rally shirts, as being from the Ocean State! Order deadline is May 11th. After the Rally, another order run will be available in many other colors.

After next Tuesday’s breakfast, May 12th, I will be leading a ride to the Larz Anderson Museum of Transportation in Brookline, Ma. If you have never been to Larz, you owe it to yourself to go! We hopefully will be returning before the heavy traffic hits. This ride will be weather permitting!

Our Tuesday Breakfast is at the Groundwater Cafe in Situate. Monthly meeting on the 11th at the Carriage Inn. Remember, we will have a new waitress, so lets show her a warm welcome!

Rubber side down!
